No Place Left | Divine Detours (Acts 27:39-28:10)

Acts 27:39-28:10

We may be seemingly tossed at random by the storms of life, but the wind blows with specific sovereign purposes from God’s storehouses, directing us exactly where He intends.

Proverbs 16:9; Psalm 135:6-7; Jonah 1:4,15,17; 2:10

“When I use the word ‘providence’, I mean that wonderful, strange, mysterious, unguessable way God has of ruling His world and sustaining His people, and His doing it over, under, around, through, or in spite of the most common stuff of our lives or even the bias of our wills.” — Dale Ralph Davis

Sometimes God Plans ‘Detours’ in our Journey:

To remind us to rejoice in what is most important: life.

2 Corinthians 1:9-10; Luke 10:20

To fulfill ‘divine appointments’ we didn’t know about.

Ephesians 2:10; Esther 4:14

To provide us with some needed rest and resources.

Mark 6:30-32; 1 Kings 19:5-8

Rf. Matthew 11:28-30
