Judges | God’s Faithfulness to Unfaithful People 2:1-5 — Repent and Return

Judges 2:1-5

A right relationship with the Lord requires a willingness to agree with His honest assessment of us and to stop the process of fabricating our own disingenuous one.

Proverbs 28:13

Tim Keller: When we attempt to excuse our sin by saying that we ‘could not’ be faithful, the hard truth is actually that we ‘would not’.

Deuteronomy 1:30; 1 Corinthians 10:13

The Process of Repentance:

1) Name it and claim it. (Your sin, that is.)

Luke 6:43-45; Matthew 15:18-20

2) Accept the consequences and admit your need for rescue.

Isaiah 55:6-7

3) Humbly and whole-heartedly return to the Lord who mercifully upholds our covenant with Him.

Ref. Isaiah 1:11-18; Joel 2:12-13
