Good Resolves: Discipleship (Mark 8:34-35)

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Mark 8:34-35

Following Jesus means accepting a whole new life led by Him and shaped by the gospel.

“A disciple is someone who has believed the message of the gospel, responded to the call of God in repentant faith, been baptized and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is seeking to understand and obey all that Jesus taught His first disciples.” — The C.S. Lewis Institute

Being a disciple of Jesus means:

1) Learning to obey all that He has commanded.

Matthew 28:18-20

2) Loving Jesus’ church- the family of disciples.

“Every church should think through how all aspects of biblical disciple-making find expression in their corporate life.” — John Piper

John 13:35

3) Living to make more disciples.

Matthew 4:18-22; John 1:35-37, 40-41, 43-45
