Judges | God’s Faithfulness to Unfaithful People (10:17-12:7 – The Weakness of Strength)
Judges 10:17-12:7
Good character, theological conviction, and courageous action are all good strengths, but they must always be governed by abiding conformity to God’s revealed will.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 16:13-14; Revelation 2:2-4
Reliance on personal strengths instead of humble submission to the Lord in every circumstance is dangerous because it blinds us to our weaknesses and opens us up to disaster.
Proverbs 3:5-7; Jeremiah 17:9; 1 Corinthians 10:12
We all have ‘blind spots’ for which we need:
1) A willingness to see ourselves for who we are (James 1:23-25)
2) People in our lives who we trust and allow to tell us the truth (Hebrews 3:12-13)
3) A healthy and regular remembrance of the Cross (Colossians 2:13-14)
