God’s anger is the fitting expression of covenant love when His people live in sin; He disciplines them for their good, that they might remember Him and repent.

God allows pagan idolatry to remain in the world to test His people and teach them how to live at war with sin.

Christians are to fight sin viciously and from a position of victory: it is deadly but Christ died to defend us from it’s penalty.
