No Place Left | The Importance of Testimony (Acts 21:37–22:29)
Acts 21:37–22:29
1 Peter 3:15
Every Christian should consider and be prepared to communicate the simple but amazing story of how they were:
- Helplessly lost in sin (Ephesians 2:1-3)
- Graciously found by Jesus (Ephesians 2:4-7)
- Radically changed forever by the gospel (Ephesians 2:8-10)
The Christian’s Testimony Is a Tool God Uses:
- As a witness to non-believers of how He mercifully informs and powerfully transforms all kinds of people.
1 Timothy 1:12-16
“A very large number of us owe our conversion to God to the personal testimony of others, who told us what the Lord had done for them, told us in words, but also showed us in their actions, for we perceived the change that was in them; we saw their calm of mind under trouble; we remarked their general happiness; we noticed and we admired their holiness; and we were led, both by their verbal and practical testimony, to seek a Saviour. This is the more usual mode of divine operation, that the testimony of one renewed soul should be blessed to another, and so the kingdom of Christ should be propagated in men’s hearts.” — Charles Spurgeon
- As a reminder to believers of how He lovingly saved them and will sovereignly preserve them to the end.
